Hello
Can anybody report about the expieriences with the new fantastic shrimps from Sulawesi?
Where are they availabel in germany,I couldn´t find them till now in Austria, and want to loo next week in germany.
Do they really need the high PH? Food?
How many species are now availabel?
Any Input is welcome!!
Happy Holidays!!
Hi,
i do keep them .... they do need the high ph right now. They eat normal algae food. They are available right now. I think i can get about 5 Different Species.
Very nice shrimps...

I keep them for only 3 weeks, actually they're at a pH of 8.2, gh 8 and kh 7. I've found that spongicola is maybe the most delicate, some of them died a few days before they arrived. The caridina cardinal seems to be more resistent and easier to keep.Hi Albert!!
for how many time are you keeping theese shrimps? You said that they are wild caught shimps, isn't it? many shrimps death since you keep them? what water conditions do you keep for theese shrimps?
Thanks in advance!!

It looks that the relationship whit the sponge is about the diatomea's feeding, any idea about this?
The water conditions looks like some African lakes (Tanganika and Malawi), there is some commertial salts for theese lakes, could it be usable to recreate Sulawesi Lake's enviroment?

Hello Kidz,
I wonder what you want show us with the first link...
Anyway, when scientists speak about the relationship with Malawi & Tanganika lakes, they are not thinking in the water parameters. They mean the species radiation and evolution is similar due to the ancient age of the lakes. This stability a long the time promotes the evolution of the life.
The Malili system lakes have relatively normal water parameters, with soft water and pH slight alkaline.
Wow~ Those shrimps are really nice
