Default any mosses other than java able to be in brackish tank?

The tank is 1.002 eventually going to 1.005. Will any of the other mosses be reasonably happy? I'm not looking for spectacular results. 13w CP on 3 gallon water in 5 gall. tank (red claw tank). Like star moss especially, flame, Xmas, Taiwan, weeping, and pellia monosolenium teneuim? Already know marimo (really algae) fine for it.

Any info. or direction to info. would be greatly appreciated as I need mostly foreground plants due to low water depth in tank. Thanks.

just a warning, star moss is not a submersable moss. It it actually called cement moss and is a desert moss that can slowly be adapted to full emersion. If you just throw "star" or cement moss into a tank it will melt rather quickly.

Pellia is a great moss wich provides alot of surface area and protection. I would certainly recommend Pellia!

Default How best to do that or keep it?

Thanks for the timely post. I ordered star moss, which is beautiful in pictures, from aqmagic just this week. Should I bag immersion idea and just keep it in a pot of soil as a house plant to dry out bw waterings?
To acclimate should I keep in a pot with wet long-fibered sphagnum (horticultural moss) and some perlite for air for a while slowly getting them wetter and wetter until they are sumberged?
Then there is the brackish water question. maybe i could divide it up and slowly submerge the other in eventual brackish.
If I had known this , I would regretfully not ordered it, but now I feel like i should see what I can do.
Thanks again. Very kind of you for the heads-up. Any slow immersion thoughts appreciated.

Ha, I as well bought the "Star Moss" from AM and feel like I should experiment as well!!! I'm not really sure but slowly exposing it to more and more water sounds like the plan, then acclimating it to brackish water to see how it does. I think I'm going to try to totally emmerse a part and leave the rest out of water. I'm interested to see what will happen!

Let's do our experiments and report back as they succeed or fail...

No. I purchased it thru their ebay site and my order says tracking is "not available for standard airmail." It just lists 6-15 working days from date of notification. Since it's only been a week, I'm not worried yet. I think I'm going to throw part of it right into the brackish tank (currently 1.0025, eventually 1.005) on a piece of lava rock for it to sink or swim and the other part put in a small glass bowl (that you see near the candle sections of stores) on top of some horticultural long fibered sphagnum and keep it damp with one end higher than the other as you suggested and slowly flood that one.

Got it a week ago. This site was down when I tried to update you. It was on cork. I put it on the sphagnum moss so the top was just damp for a couple of days then went to one side is lower and pretty wet. Now I don't know what to do. How long should this take? It's still green, but just sitting there looking like the short moss outside the back door...
