    Default Low tech plants?

I'm starting a 20g long low tech tank. I want to have a bunch of plants so that the CRS/CBS babies can hid in. What are some low light plants that does well in the same water condition as the shrimps?

I currently have glosso, and micro sword. I know glosso are not low light but if it does ok with low lights then its fine. I don't want to put co2 in mt shrimp tank.

Java moss - will provide staple diet for the shrimp

If you want a carpet effect then you can use Marsilea Sp.

Anubias are usually associated with low light conditions, but they grow very slowly.

There are many commonly found plants that grow well and relatively fast in low light conditions...

Common amazon sword, dwarf sagitaria, cobamba, ambulia, water sprite, hydrilla, hydrocotyle, vallisneria.

    Good luck on your tank!

There are all sorts of low-tech options from no-tech to high-light low-filter.

Moss is a good start, floating plants, Java Fern, Marimo Moss Balls

Some of the most stunning tanks are low-tech and one secret they often use is a single or very few plants species, more like nature in some ways. But the real secret those low-tech masters use is they research, research, research! And of course experimenting.

Find a plant specific forum (or a few), talk it up, and you may want to bring some ideas back here you found elsewhere.

Hi, what is the light watt per gallon you are using?

Well I would say as the plants mentioned along with it you can also go with floating plants like hornwort, foxtail or something like egeria densa..
    Thanks

I have have a 15 watt (says its equevelant to 60 watt) CFL 6500k from Home Depot. Its on for 5 hours a day.

I have added some fissiden moss in the tank. I love it but it grows too damn slow.

Great, fissidens is a slow grower- so better you can go with java, christmas, taiwan moss too. Juts keep the moss near to your water flow and they will result in good growth..
    Thanks
