Default Digital PH meter/ with buffer solutions?

I have a digital ph meter that came along with two bottles of ph solution. What do I do with these solutions? Do I put them in my aquarium with my shrimpies?

no, those are to calibrate your probe. when you first set it up, you put your probe into the 4 pH liquid, and adjust with a screwdriver the calibration screw so the meter matches the number on the bottle (usually 4), then you wash off the probe and put it into the other calibration liquid (which is usually 7-9), and then adjust the screw til the meter reads the same as the number on the other bottle. Then your meter is calibrated.

This needs to be done every few months. The probe will eventually die. The average life of a probe is about 12 months.

Oh shoot, I also forgot to mention since it didnt' come with instructions, never let the probe dry out. Always keep it moist or submerged in water. if it stays away from moisture too long, the gel inside of the probe will evaporate and it will be useless.

The probe is the glass bulb at the end of the part that goes into the water for testing.

You can also just use distilled water, or tank water, the most important thing is to not let it dry out.
