From what I've read. Lights and co2 have go together meaning you having your co2 running 24/7 and your lights off during the night is a big no no... Plants need at the most 12 hrs of light in a day. Leaving the co2 running the whole time without light has no where to go but build up in your tank and without light your plants cannot produce o2. Think of it like nature plants need light to grow and produce o2 but they don't get sunlight 24 hrs a day. Some what rusty in biology, how you get the idea. Hope this help

Well the FLUVAL kit is just basic co2 and you have to do it manually close it 2 hrs before closing your light. This will let the plants consume the c02 left for the day and turn on c02 an hour or so before turning on the light the next day. The timer will work only with a regulator with selonoid attached to your c02 tank. Lfs would sell c02 set up and parts for it.

I have a 75g tank, run 2 diffusers in my tank at around 1bps per diffuser to get the plants nice and healthy and alive (I need two diffusers or half the tank plants die... and I use solenoid as well). I also have a 30 inch aerator bar in my tank in the back which I leave turned on 24/7, and a large sponge filter which circulates the water in my tank. So far, with the bubble wall turned on 24/7, I have had great success with my shrimp, plus it provides something to look at just behind the plants, and the shrimp love to try to swim down against the current of the rising current But yeah, I have had good success with running a good aerator with lots of surface area in my tank 24/7 with no dead shrimp so far.
