Thanks triscene, have trimmed a few and re-planted but will be giving everything a good trim soon

Well my Bumble Bee Shrimp order arrived from Kesgrave! Well packaged, however sadly the largest shrimp one was DOA and another largish one wasn't looking very good and was dead the following morning. Smallest four are fine and are feeding well... leaves me with four new bumbles and the two from the LFS. Tried looking everywhere local and on the internet to find another source but cannot find another supplier.

Any tips, anyone???

blahdeblah, Thanks for the comment Same here very please to see another UK based shrimp keeper on here.

Filter I'm using is an Aqua-Flow 100 with a spray bar... purchased Cube second hand for £10 and so it didn't come with anything. Cheapest filter I could find suitable for shrimp was the 100 but had planned to purchase the smaller 50 but it worked out more expensive on-line for some reason... Once settled in the filter is very quiet, what brand are you using, maybe there is some air trapped in the filter?

Only keeping bumble bees here, what species do you have?

Yeah, turned out to be trapped air and has thankfully settled down now. Sounded like it was grindind rocks for a couple of days and my son was complaining as it was keeping him awake at night.

Glad it's quietened down, nothing worse than a noisy pump especially in a bed room...

Had close to the same issue...mine was not snapped together properly and it was making an irritating noise...had to put a pillow over my head to block the sound. till the next day i noticed the problem.

Currently only have two sources for Shrimp; Kesgrave Tropicals via internet and one of our local Maidenhead Aquatics stores which stock a few species of shrimp on and off...

Managed to find one local shrimp keeper who sells offspring, but they are Cherries and I'm trying to avoid them... saying that if I can re-home my Kribensis I may add a few to the four foot and see how they do, unmanaged.
