Talking Soon to be Tiger tank

    So I bought a 80x30x40 tank (90l or 25,40 US Gallon)
I put in a EHEIM Jager 100W heater, hang on Wave filter up to 100l and 2x 13W 6500K lights.

The bottom of the tank is AKADAMA, the thickness is 4cm or 1.57 inch. Then on the AKADAMA i put some very fine black gravel. Around 1cm or 0.39 inch thick.

Made 2x Bamboo hiding places and one is made of clay. On top of them I put some java moss and xmass moss. Got one big piece of wood, dunno what type of wood it is. Some green rocks and a bit of cryptocoryne wendtii green.

So what do you think? Should I add something, opinions? The tank is so far only in the first week of cycle. I will remove the hoses that you see on the pictures, there are from a canister filter that I wish to cycle with this tank. They won't be here in the end.

I would like to add more BIO area, so that the shrimps have something to nibble in the aquarium. But I'm out of ideas...

    I would add some driftwood.

I'm surprised that your GH is still so high. My Akadama tanks drop quickly to GH 5 and KH 0/1.

Get some lava rock in there if you are wanting to increase bioload. Its inert and has LOADS of surface area - especially when wrapped in pelia!!

Why are you so surprised? My pipe water is 8,5Ph - 16 GH and 13 KH

I didn't know you were using tapwater. Now I am not surprised. I wonder how long the GH will stay that low when you are adding tapwater with GH 16.

Now I see that you have some wood in there--in the thumbnail view it looked like those were rocks.

Yeah it's tapwater, but soon my RO system will come. That will make a nice difference, at least I hope. And the wood is one big piece!

    Got my RO system now.

    Tap Water:
    8pH
    16GH
    13KH

    RO water:
    5.5pH
    0-2KH
    2GH

Hmmm now just to figure out how much RO water should I mix with tap water? I'm not sure how to start mixing it. I am at this water:

    PH: 7.0 - 7.4
    KH: 4 - 8
    GH: 6 - 10
    TDS: 100 - 180
    Water temp: 18 - 23

I changed the tank setup a bit and took some new pictures around 100 but only a few were good
