Default Anyone purchase crushed lava rocks from this site?

I was wondering if anyone has ever purchased crushed lava rock from Green Leaf Aquarium? I might purchase it for my shrimp tanks to replace my FES if it doesn't work out. I would buy ADA Amazonia but it's too expensive for my budget but I know it's one of the best. I was thinking of CRL on top of DRL Akadama for my alternate set up.

I have not purchase lava rock from them but I have purchased other things. Seems to be a pretty solid site, good customer service.

what products have you purchased from them? I just notice they carry some shrimp sand, which looks like FES because of its roundness. I wonder if anyone has had any experiences with it or their Aqua soil.

Hmm, their shipping prices aren't that bad, and they have cheap babytears HC's too I think I'll buy from them later on.

Ya they seemed to be pretty reasonable, timely shipping as well.

How would you use the lava rock? As the substrate or in addition to something else? Just wondering because I am getting ready to set up a yellow neo tank with a 40B I just got and looking for ideas.

you'd use the crushed lava rocks as substrate. It's dense so you can keep plants down and there's pores so the beneficial bacterial can cultivate. You can apparently use it as filter media too.

Anyone know of places in the US to get large chunks of lava rock? Like softball size or larger.
