What is the dosage when using Prazi. I have some new shrimp coming in a always give them a salt bath before putting them in a new tank but I did not see the Prazi dosage if the salt trick did not work.
Thanks

Instructions dose it's 1ml per 15l. I did a short treatment, but I checked very well the shrimps to get sure they haven't parasites (in my case they were scutiarella). Now they're still healthy
Here's my little odyssey: http://www.shrimpnow.com/forums/show...=ectoparasites

Thank you for that information
I used 1ml per 20 litres, I have not seen any scutiarella since and all my shrimp are fine including new born shrimp, it did have an effect on my main crypt plant, it is slowly deteriorating straight after treatment, which is odd as it was literally taking over the tank.
I do still have planaria, hydra and some other unidentified worms in my tank so the Praziquantal did not touch those.
Julia.

Just to share what I encountered recently. 1 of my cherries had worm cluster on his head, I did a salt bath once for that particular shrimp. 1 teaspoon of salt for 1 cup of tank water. No noticeable issues after salt bath and the cluster of worm on the shrimp have disappeared. I only soak about 10 seconds for that guy.
cheers.

I think I had something similiar in the past.
I had them growing on the nose, head and even legs.
I used malachite green.
I forgot how much and how many times I used, you will need to find ir online.
It should all be clear within 2 weeks.
I followed what I read on the internet and they eventually cleared off.
It is best to quarantine the infected and remove the shell once they molt.
I didn't quarantined them as the they were all infected.
Causes are usually new shrimps that were infected and bad water parameter.
No death occured with melachite green.
Another alternative is to follow FishFan85 Flubenol.
Hi everyone, I just wanted to update that I have still not seen any scutariella since this treatment. I do have the odd planaria and some hydra still but they are not affecting the shrimp in anyway. I also tried the salt bath to start with, it worked great but as I had so many shrimplets in the tank it was easier for me to treat the whole tank.
I had no idea you could use malachite green with shrimp, thanks for sharing HYUN007.
Julia.

Hi I have the same issues that you did also
I have some planaria the white ones and a few hydras the white cotton wool stuff appeared on a few of my shrimps too i too plan to treat my tank with Tremazol fingers crossed i get no deaths before the meds arrive
how is your tank doing now have you stopped the planaria and hydra? if so care to share how?
here is my video
youtube.com/watch?v=oUv_6ufJC7Q
you will need to add the www dot before it
Hi felyor, yes you have exactly the same parasite I had, definately scutariella, I must say that I did not have as many affected as you but I didn't lose one single shrimp and the Tramazol worked a treat for mine, I have not seen any return after the one treatment. I have not treated my tank for the planaria as they seem to have dissapeared, I still have hydra but when I see them on the glass I just use my magnet cleaner and wipe them off, they don't seem to cause any harm at all so I don't plan to treat the tank anymore as my CBS and Cherries are breeding in that tank and I can't risk upsetting them.
Good luck with your treatment, let us know how you get on.
