Default My tropical 20 liter/5 gallon mixed tank, with Shrimp & Fish

    Hello everybody!

    What I great forum!
I am enjoying myself very much here with all the info and the stunning photo's I have seen so far.
Looking forward to learning and seeing more.

After introducing myself, and reading/commenting on various posts, I wanted to share my own pictures/video, with you all, I hope you enjoy them!

(please excuse me for some of the photo's that aren't very sharp, I use my iPhone and sometimes it's hard)

    Take care,

    Joey

    Specifics:

    Tank:
    Superfish Aqua 20 (20 liters/5,28 Gallons)

    Animals:
    - 1 Loach (Gastromyzon Marble Sp.)
    - 5 Fire Tetra's (Hyphessobrycon Amandae)
    - 4 Glass Shrimp (Macrobrachium Lancesteri)
    - 22 Cherry Shrimp (Neocaridina heteropoda var. "red")

    Substrate:
    - The substrate I use is a shrimp friendly substrate. It is called "Fluval Stratum". It helps adjusting the PH level of the water to match that of the shrimps favorite level.

    Plants:
I have several, not to difficult to maintain, fast growing plants.

    - Lymnophila Heterophylla ( on the left side of the tank)
    - Lysimachia Nummularia Area (back of the tank)
    - Lobelia Cardinalis (right front corner)
    - Vesicularia Dubyana (Javamoss) (middle right against the glass)
    - Cladophora Aegagropila (Moss ball)

I used several white stones to create a little path and a large blue stone for contrast.
The big stone on the right, isn't actually a stone at all
It's some kind of ceramic, It's not as heavy as a stone, looks and feels the same.

    Filter
My filter is an Aquaflow 100, it doesn't contain only the sponge anymore but I adjusted the biomechanical filter capability of this device. The cartridge now contains from bottom to top, the sponge, filter wool, Siporax (highly porous glass fiber tablets that acts as adsorbates binding various chemicals to their large external surfaces and also as sites of bacterial colonisation), yet another layer of filter wool on top of it all. I am very satisfied with it, and it's not hard to d.i.y.

    Heater
I also use a 25 watt heater in the right back corner.
The lighting is the standard Aqua 20 compact lamp 9 watt that comes with the tank.

    Thank you Juliia

I really love that rock, it looks just like a real one but weighs a lot less
Yeah actually I did, I made about 70 to 100 photo's which I then selected for quality etc.

    Thanks a lot

LOL, im the same Joey, I take so many photos, most are all blurry so only end up with a few in the end , I would love to invest in a decent DSLR camera.
