Default How many Assasin's to clear a tank of snail's

I have a couple of my 65 tank's overun with snail's , but that's my fault for buying used tank's I suppose . Just wondering I have quad's of assasin's in each of the 3 tank's and I see them mating how long to control the pond snail's and ramshorn's . I have a clown loach as well and he is eating some but in a month he is not controling them yet in 20 and 30 gallon tank's with the assasin's . hhmmm will the clown eat my assaasin's ? any guess's will be helpful

better just put a big boiled veg leave in the tank and attract the snails and than take the leave out

I agree with killer007, Assassin snails will not clear your tank of snails.

I added 11 assassins to my 75g that was overloaded with MTS, ramhorn, and pond snails. In just a couple weeks the number of visible snails is down more than 50%. I'd say that in the next couple weeks I'll probably remove all but maybe 4 of the assassins to see if they maintain. I do think that assassin snails can all but eliminate all the other snails in a tank if there are enough of them or given enough time.

I have this problem also, my 4 tanks are full of snails, I tried 3 Assasins in my 35 litre tank, they did eat quite a few but nowhere near enough or fast enough to make a difference. I think you would need a fair few of them to really clear a tank.
I think your clown would definately have a go at eating Assasins. Freshwater puffers are amazing at eating snails but they are aggresive towards anything else and shrimps would be dinner too
