I have such a tank for a year now, but it started as a regular tank for 3 years before going extra low-tech. It works, but does have a heater (which sakuras dont need, but sulawesi sp. do). In the tank there is a sakura population and now also malili reads and 1 unidentified bee sp., specimen, possibly sulawesi blueberry. This tank used to house cardinals, which did perfectly fine for 2 years but died out in a huge heat spell (37C) a year + ago. It had a filter back than.

if can ,u save alot of money, but i wont try.
. 4 me it is about making a very oddly shaped/bizar tank work, there just is no place to hide the filter in it. I have plenty of "normal" tanks too, but this one was just made for the challenge that most people wont try, and it works. I'd say that with denticulata any bucket which holds water, big enough (25 liter +) old enough (4 month +) and lit enough will probably work, but with more delicate species- think twice
