hello guys, here we have my own plafo led :-) It's made with a total of 8W power leds, for a total of around 2500 lumen. I used a deep red with a 650nm peak at the center, 1 12k kelvin cold white, a 6500 kelvin natural white, a 4500k warm white. I definetly like the differences between fluo and leds, the latter looks really better.

I am interested in this topic because as you get upt ot 10+ tanks the electricity becomes a real factor and any way to reduce the total cost is important to me. As aussieant32 stated, it would have to a viable anlternative with lumens being sufficient.

I have been researching industrial quality led lighting and I havent begun to consider prices because I probably wont be able to afford it but check this out

Here are my preference should I ever have the cash to spend. I dont know how muc they are but I am scared to ask :S

They sell RGB controllers for these aswell if you require a specific colour temp.

This one is 6350K which isnt high enough in my oppinion but is is 2000 lumen

    This one is 6500K...

I use the Truelumen 12K 4 light strips for my plant / shrimp tanks and they work fine on my shallow tanks. Plants are out of control and this is combination with Eco-complete soil. The shrimp don't seem to hide and come out when they want to feed from their lower light places....also have some fish that play a factor.

Can anybody recommend a LED lighting for a 90 cm tank? My electricity bill raises from year to year, and I must find any cheaper lighting for my two tanks. 10,000-12,000k preferred. Thanks for your suggestions!

Dont know where is Aus you are but one of the best (in my opinion) LFS in Australia, easily in Sydney has a Maxspect Mazarra S-Series LED Lighting Unit, which is 1x 50w LED Module + Power Supply - for only $550.00.

    I use a 10W LED light. There are 20 bulbs of 10K.
Does not run hot and is rather small. You can suspend it. Measurements of mine are 60Lx8Wx3H cm.

I will send you a pm.

Five months later, and a new tank arriving soon - so I am looking for a cool white LED spot or ready to use lamp for a 50 x 30 x 30 cm tank. Any recommendations? Advise, please
