    Default UP AQUA Shrimp sand

    Hi guys

Is anyone using this UP brand shrimp sand? If so please tell me how you find it.

Suddenly it is being sold in mass here in Australia but I can't find any information on people using it in other countries which is bothering me a little.

I can buy some here about 50 bags but want to get a better idea if it is ok yo use before I buy.

    Thank you

Looks as if this Taiwanese product is new. If you have no reviews on this substrate, I would start testing it in just 1-2 tanks. After you have built up your opinion on this substrate, you might want to buy all 50 bags

    I think that's what I will do.

Is it strange that we are getting it first? Normally we ate the last Country to receive substrates,

    Thanks

    Hello

How soon did you add the shrimp to it? Did you adjust hardness?

Ok so I have established a 4ft aquarium with the new Up shrimp sand. Not very sexy but will provide a good home for the shrimp.

And a picture of the new sand packaging.

    Aquamx,

If I'm not mistaken you only can find ADA and Up Aqua substrate in Australia...
But for other country like I'm from Malaysia and I think Singapore are the same too we can get a lot of other brand here like BW, , Gex, KW, ADA and many others...
You should try search in aquariumlife forum and I think lots of people using that substrate in Aust...
    Good Luck...

i think its fine , it has the same properties like other shrimp soil, doesnt disintergrate, pH buffer, rich of elements
taiwan should be good as they have many shrimp breeders

With so many rocks in your tank.. what is your gH level? do they affect pH?

The Shrimp sand is pretty decent for CRS, I have them in my tank now for 2 months and my PH is 6. After water change it goes up to 6.5 and gradually reduces to 6 in about a day. And the little soil is "light" enough for the shrimps to play with.

1.5 Ft Tank by the way.

    hope this helps.
