Default 1st attempt with Cardinal Dennerlis and Six Banded Blue Bee

    Hello and greetings from Portugal

I would like to share with you all my 1st attempt with Cardinal Dennerlis and Six Banded Blue Bee.

To make a long story short, a friend gave me a tank with filter, thermo, light and a few things along because he was changing to saltwater.
So, as I had such a crash on dennerlis, I decided to try them.

Here is my tank, one week after the shrimps got in.
I introduced 11 dennerlis and 6 Six Banded Blue bee. I've lost 2 dennerli and one Six Banded Blue bee in the first hours. No more deaths since then.
The big tylos are now separated (how do you call the place where we put the females about to give birth???) because they were eating the valisnerias!!!
Only the smaller ones are still free. Any way, the bigger ones (and absolutely marvellous ones) are for a friend of mine, so they are in this tank temporarily.

Hi Paulo. How is your pregnant females? Many shrimplets or not?
Do you plan to add more sulawesi species to this tank?

    Hello Claudio!
Sorry for the delay in this answer. The email notification must have been deleted by mistake.

Any away, the shrimplets are doing just fine. I believe they are about 15.
Some of them are almost the size of my smallest dennerli :-)
And their mother is already burried again!!!
If they continue to breed this often, they will became a problem in a near future.

At the moment, my attention is on the three buried denerli females. I hope they can deliver well.

Regarding other species, I don't have budget available for them right now.
I sure would like to add some other species...
I will have to wait and maybe trade a few Six Banded Blue Bees for some other species.

    Hello Soothing Shrimp,

I must be honest and tell you that the tank was only a few days old when I took the photos.
    :-)

Beautiful pictures! Great snails and shrimp!

In my experience, rabbit snails (Tylomelania) don't go very well in the same tank as Sulawesi shrimp. The problem is that for these snails to do well, you need to feed them a lot. This eventually either leads to water quality problems, or you have to do lots of water changes, which is also stressfull for the shrimp. I now keep my Cardinals in their own tank, and I keep hardy Neocaridina shrimps in the tanks with my Tylomelania snails.

I loved the layout... shrimps, snails... all

Are the small Tylo born from your snails?

Thanks for your kind words :-)

    The layout had 'live-aid'.
Some friend at a portuguese forum help me a lot with the rocks.
I wouldn't be able to do this by my self.

Regarding the Tylos, I only have this specie: Tylomenia sp Golden rabbit snail
These are very small, but very nice. They have a light yellow. Not as beautifull as some others but they have their beauty also eheheheh

All the other Tylos were for a friend of mine. I had to separate them because they were eating my vallisnerias!
