I guess this is bacteria bloom, a problem the Germans also dealt with in Hanover in the 1rst championshop. Solution is to use aged sponge filters.

Dear Imke,

thank for sharing the video.

The water in some thanks is cloudy becose we had some problems with the sand.

Hi Andrea,

which exactly have been the problems and which brand did you use as sand? Did the filters already run a couple of time before? Would be great to know, as maybe other organizers can avoid the same mistakes. Thanks

Hi Imke,

the tanks more cloudy are not in the contest but they are in a booth. They use akadama and this is the reason becouse the water was cloudy.
In the contest we had some problems with the white sand becouse it released some dust though it washed a lot time. The white sand and the black sand was ceramized so it was easy to wash and completely neutral.
The pomp filter was new, like was new the sponge.
We have had a big problem the first day with the temperature. Infact it was increased and especially the "cantonensis" shrimps have suffered a lot and some death. This fact give us some problems also the day later.... so we decided to take out the most sensitive shrimps.
