    Default self made food

Dear Imke, we got an interest in your self made recepies. Can you please post some pictures?
and a question about the last ingredient in the second recepie - do you use just a juice of it (I mean without particles of cabbage)?

Hi Natali, I am sorry I have not taken any pictures, as the food looks really similar then the one before. The juice I have added is organic and from a tetra bag, which you can buy to drink (for humans). No cabbage parts.

However, I now prefer soy power over tofu, as the shrimp seem to prefer the sweetness of the powder. Besides, drying is faster and better done in the oven (low temperature only) to avoid funghi and make it really dry.

Mangold, spinach, cabbage, chinese Cabbage, pumpkin, stinging nettle and walnut leaves are approved ingredients for shrimp food with beneficial effects, so feel free to experiment with this parts.

    Hi Imke,

Really valuable piece of information you have provided.

Have some questions from my end-
    1. The pumpkin(free of pesticide) should I have to boil it and then slice it, and then letting it dry? Or their is some other procedure? And can I follow the same procedure for all other vegetables you have mentioned.
    2. Can I mix more than vegetable for preparing one food?
    3. Sorry for asking more from you, but some things are hard to find in our part of world so -
Nori algae flakes- can it be replaced with commercially used algae flakes/waffers?
Agar Agar - can it be replaced with some thing else.

    Thanks for all the help
    Thanks
    Abhishek

    Hi Abhishek,

    1) to all ingredients, do not boil or cook them. Slice the pumpkin in very thin pieces, and let dry on air or in low temerature in the oven. Do not put into sunlight, as the vitamins and coloration will vanish.

    2) the basic receipt is free for changes and modifications; anyway I would keep proteins under 20%. Best is recommended green vegetables (spinach, mangold, cabbage, chinese cabbage) and recommended leaves (mulberry, walnut, stinging nettle).

    3) The marine algae like nori are salty and bring iod. Yo can skip them, they are not necessary. For the Agar Agar, I would really try to get and use it, as it is the glue for this food.

Thanks a lot Imke for the reply and clarifications.

I will get into the recipe if I can arrange all the products, and the marine algae like nori can it be replaced with another marine algae.
And until I get all the things in place, will slice the vegetables very thin, dry it and then feed them to the shrimps..

    Thanks a lot Imke
    Thanks
    Abhishek
