My first Sulawesi tank journal...

hi,

this is my first sulawesi tank and hope everything will going fine...
if you have any suggestion and advice please let me know

here is my tank spec -
tank - 30cmx30cmx30cm
filter - eheim 2211 attached to UGF
filter media - SubstratPro
light - 2x9watt pl light
substrat - coral stone + GEX blue pack pure sand
layout - coral + some lava rocks


new tank with 5mm thickness...


UGF...


put some coral stone in-front...


now place some lave rocks behind and top of the UGF...


put a layer of coral stone on top...


last put on the pure sand on top of it...


GEX pure sand...


layout time...


after fill up the water...


water a bit cloudy...


eheim 2211 with substratPro filter media...


self made bacter booster...
mix of 1tsp ADA bacter100 and 2tsp Penac W...


after put in the bacter booster...
the water will clear up after 1-2 day...


the day after...
now put some lava rocks inside...


what do you think?
which scape in better...
with or without lava rocks inside...

measure the water parameter today...
ph - 7.6
kh - 4
gh - 8
tds - 300ppm
ammo/nitrate/nitrite - 0.25ppm/0/0
temp - around 28-30c morning...(put this tank outside my house)

beside the bacter booster i did put in -
- mosura BT-9
- mosura bio plus
- mosura OSM
- mosura shi zhen power
- mosura rich water
- mosura mineral plus
- BorneoWild GH up

will let this tank run for at lease 10-14days before putting in the Cardinal...
just order 10pcs...

Wow nice tanks setup. But how come you are using so many GH up product? I think mineral plus is good enough for 1st setup and then borneowild GH up to use during water change. I doing that borneowild gh up for water change easier to control as compare to mineral plus that my own 2 cents of opinion. I once forgotten about the label warning. I sort of never break into parts and overdose all my cardinal turn pale. Lucky i have some distill drinking water around quickly add in 3L + to stablise no death.... lucky.

Oh bro can u pm you the 2nd product you use to create your DIY bacter booster?

Oh yea one more think if you got intention of keeping harlequin i think you might want to add a sponge fliter for it to peak on. I notice they like to gather at the sponge fliter i did trial and error. I've only 5 pcs of harlequin that time i have a sponge covering my filter outlet cause i find it a hassle keep changing so i change it to a stainless one. End my harlequin start to die off 1 after another however i notice 2 pcs die of molting. I haven't top up my harlequin yet looking into putting some back in my tank.

Are you using RO water? With all the GH stuff, I would think all your values would be higher.

This is just my feeling on the mineral plus and GH up product....
When use mineral plus only the tds easily increase but gh just a bit...
But when I use GH up than GH will increase easily but tds just a little...
So I combine both product...

I using tap water with mosura shi zhen power...
Yes those product will increase my gh and tds but I just use 30% of the recommended dosage...
Once in the morning and once at night...

I would personally use lava rocks instead of corals as focal point of the tank...

I removed 1 of the coral behind yesterday...
And put lots of lava rocks make it like a hill...
Put in 2pc cherry yesterday and they're doing fine till this morning...

removed one of the coral at the back and changed it to lava rocks hill...

the water parameter today...
ph - 8.2
gh - 8
tds - 350ppm
