The more I hear about sulawesi shrimp the more I want to get some. My tap water seems almost perfect for them. PH 7.6, KH 2-3, GH 4-5. I would barely have to do anything to it.

Great! Be careful though, there are harmful chemicals in tap water. Not only that, but the water companies change these chemicals occasionally. I used tapwater and bred cardinals successfully, but then the chemicals were changed and killed them all. Sorry to be so morbid, but as you know, Sulawesi shrimp are hard to come across in the West

Very good points. I still want to try cardinals at some point, but for now I think I'll keep them lower down on my to-do list.

is 80-85 degrees f okay? and 8.0-8.4ph okay? I dont know my gh or kh does it really matter? My tanks has aragonite sand and lots of river rocks with riccia, java moss and lots of algae on the glass. the temp is 80 at night and up to 84-85 during the day because I use sunlight.

Gh/Kh Matter yes. 85° F seems a bit on the warm side.

85°F is about 29.5°C. This is perfect for Sulawesi shrimp.

Unfortunately most Tylomelania snails will eat either. Which species are you thinking of trying?

I find my Neon Yellow Tylomelania (also known as Dwarf Gold Rabbit snails) will only eat algae, however. They're your best bet They're a little slow and range in colour from white to gold, but they're a lovely species.
