Hi
There is no possibility nor will there ever be possibility IMO.
It is illegal to import any live crustacean into Australia. We have the strictest laws in the world. It is ok to ship state to state except for Western Australia and Tasmania.
To have a possibility to import we must do a complete risk assessment for every species type, not just the Genus. It is a massively complex thing to do and must pass through many government bodies, it is designed for us to fail. If we did manage to get a shrimp species allowed for ornamental purposes then would it make it through 3 months of quarantine ? The cost then for housing them in quarantine would be massive. I have a friend who imported some Crinums and it cost him well over $10000.
Here is hoping, but highly unlikely.
