shrimp show in Arcen

hi,does any one know of this show it runs with the koi show?
if so where can i find information on it as i thoroughly enjoyed it last year.
Would be most grateful its in august.

Hi Amanda,

yes, the shrimp show runs together with the Koi and betta show; the members of the garnalenenkreeftenforum from the Netherlands for sure know more. Besides, also on the Vivarium 2011, a reptile fair, there will be a shrimp contest I have read.

Uhmm, luckily Vivarium is more than just reptiles! It is an event covering everything about Aquariums, Terrariums and Paludariums. But the main part is about aquariums and every seperate part of this hobby. This means saltwater, aquascaping, plants, fish and.....shrimp. There will be again many exhibitors selling them and there is the contest as well.

We should attempt to meet up at a European show and spend a couple of days enjoying the show and meeting up with fellow shrimps nuts...!!! I'm in and keen, just need a date and a venue..!!

That is pretty easy:

March 26th and 27th -> Vivarium in Nieuwegein, close to Utrecht.

The contest in Arcen is much bigger, but at Vivarium are much more shrimp sellers and additional equipment to be bought. And a small contest off course.

be just right for my birthday though getting the time off will be hard.
i will definetly be going to the arcen show as it is such a big show and the gardens are lovely .

Here is the organizers announcement for the Acren show:

The 19th of august it’s happening again! World’s biggest Koi event will open her doors for the 19th time in de Kasteeltuinen in Arcen.

We are proud to say that for the second time the Holland Shrimp Show will be a part of this big event! The Holland Shrimp Show is a show where shrimp breeders can show there beautiful shrimps to the audience. It’s a great opportunity to introduce our great hobby to the public. Over 250 shrimps will be showed in 50 tanks.

The shrimps will be judged by a jury at their colour, drawings and health, to win some beautiful prices.

There will be a dedicated team of shrimp keepers at the stand to tell you everything about shrimps and crayfish and at the stand there are some beautiful shaped aquariums with some shrimp and crayfish in it.
