Question Cambarellus diminutus - why gone from USA

I've been looking for Cambarellus diminutus to host, and noticed something odd.
this USA native dwarf crayfish is traded and sold cheap in Germany and Europe,
but nobody seems to have it in the USA itself. how does stuff like this happen?
I'd understand if the Europeans and Asians over the years hybridized this cray
in favor of some non native color or marking, but that's not the case here.

Not seen any hybrid or new colors for Diminitus. Nice crayfish, it's a pity you do not find it in usa

well,in the USA you have more then 360 species. I collected about 330 myself.
The problem is that most of the people who like crayfish in the USA dont know where to get them from. They will go to the shops and they will find some P.alleni or P.clarkii there..thats it.

    Cheers
    Chris

I'd also love to find a source to buy a pair of Cambarellus Diminutus. I live in California, so its not like I can go outside and find them in the local creek.
