does anybody have more information on the 4th breeder festival in Japan ( 紅白祭り)? Is it a competition or an auction event? See:

Well, I had no luck finding a Japanese translator and one forum member unfortunately did not reply on my PM. As far as I understand now, the Red and White Festibal as well as the Black and White Festival are special shrimp breeder's sell-offs on bidders and in local shops.

Giving shrimps into Internet auctions and see which one gets the best price might be a better competition than local championships, as we have had in Europe... Shrimps will not get stressed this much.
