Thumbs up Insights on CR Breeding in Taiwan

    Hi all,

a friend of mine has visited some Taiwanese CR shrimp keepers in Taipeh and made a video on this. I am sorry the speakers text is in German. Thus, you may enjoy the pictures and the insights on their tank set ups.

    Video

Some Facts: pH 5.0-5,8 ; temp 24-26 ; filtration: three canister in line ; DIY chiller *the silver pipes in the tanks.

    Regards,
    Imke

Imke thanks for sharing this with us. Thats a very nice movie your friend made. I watched it with my mouth open, i was realy amazed how much king kongs i saw walking around there. Also it was nice to see the simple set ups for the shrimps. It was simple but working very nice. Very nice clean water in all tanks.

    Greeting Jeffrey

I am curious why they mix so many kinds and grades together? Do they not care about cross breeding?

They mix them to get bigger breeding groups, like all the people are having F1-Mischlinge (hybrids) to start with Taiwan Bee breeding.

Thanks for sharing Imke! I was impressed by the PH level...just 5.08..amazing..Do you have any information about GH/KH in their tanks? Since they are using CO2 to bring the PH down, I would bet that KH is nothing but zero..

I suppose that KH is 0 in their tanks, too - but I cannot remember any spoken information on that. The KH zero is very common in Germany, too and a lot of people keep their Taiwan Bee in lower pH around 6 or less. It is stabilized by GH only.
