something on my moss

hi, ive got something growing on my java moss, it looks like fluff and is white, just wondered if anyone knew wot it was and how bad it is.

Hi,

it could be bacteria, which decompose for example a crumb of food. How large is it? In little masses it's harmful. Have you the possibility to show us a picture to get fairly sure?

not able to post pics yet but have removed it from the tank just to be sure, theres kind of 3mm fans of hair like something all over it, no big loss tho as it was a crappy bought bit of bamboo with java moss on.

Its in a jar at the moment, if it goes away or turns out to be ok i might add it back to the tank, but i might go for the more natural look and have moss on my lava rock instead.
