Default Tiger shrimp tank - an Aquascaping effort with mosses

    Hi everybody,

I practise me a bit in Aquascaping, especially with mosses. I want to show you such an experiment by reference to a 25l tank with Orange Tail Tiger Shrimp.

    Basic information:
    - energy saver Lamp 18W, Daylight, 12 hours per day
    - selfmade wooden case for the lamp with looking glass as reflectors
    - thick sponge filter at the back, behind are ceramic tubules (Siporax) and a little electric pump
    - (thermometer)
    - oxydator
    - Discus Mineral or other products to increase hardness of the water to change (I change about 40% every third day)
    - no CO2 installation, no plant nutrients or other additions

    Water:
    pH 7,4
    temp 70-75°F
    conductivity ~350µS/cm

    Decoration equipment:
    - sand mixture (I simply poured all the rests of sand in different colours I had together)
    - stones from the Donau (river)
    - beech leaves (it's just deco, because no animal feeds it)

    Plants:
    - Monosolenium tenerum
    - Riccia rhenana
    - Riccardia chamaedryfolia ("Coral Pellia")
    - Vesicularia sp.
    - Lomariopsis lineata
    - Utricularia gibba

    Livestock:
    - Orange Tiger shrimps
    - some little Snails (Planorbidae)

    Food:
    - done food, rice bran etc. (once a day a bit)
    - Artemia, mosquito larvae and so on (once a week a bit)
    - stinging nettle leaves (always available)
    - walnut leaves (always available)

Enought words, here finally photos. Enjoy.

Beautiful tank! It's rare to see such a well scaped aquarium without high T5 lighting and CO2.

Hi Elisa, very nice documentation! How much Tiger live in this tank and what is it's netto volume? It's not easy to make a small tank running well - what's your trick?
