No really a must to use coral sand. It's just that coral sand gives the ph value of 7.6-8.4., kH-3,GH :4-8 so quite convenient. Don't need to add coral chips to fliter for buffer, it gives some hardness so pretty ideal for Wesi setup. Just my 2cents worth

Hi Smdanng, I am running my tank now. It contains 3 Sulawesi Snails (1 fully-grown adult and 2 newborns) with a Sulawesi Rock, Coral Sands and Bits.. However, I noticed that my water's PH Value isnt consistence.. It is always buffering from PH 7.7 to PH 8. Is there anything that I can do to stablize the PH Value? I have yet to add in Shrimps bcos of this.. (Dont dare) My water temp is at 28.4 degrees.

    Kindly advice. Thanks alot!!

Hi, can I check what did you use for measuring the ph since liquid ph solution normally is a step of 0.5 each?
