Thanks for sharing this; I like it because it shows that Sulawesi shrimps need long cycled tanks and algae. Can you give us the details of your set up, please?

Imke, I will review my note and provide details in a few days. Right now the temp is 27 C/80 F, TDS is 366, pH is 8.1, pH varies from 7.8-8.2 since I set it up. Water change or RO top off due to evaporation once or twice a week about gallon per change, tank is ADA 90 P, 47 gallon. Canadian lace rock that I got from the outdoor pond. I have cardinals, red orchids, harlequins, yellow nose/maroons and tigri in this tank.

The cardinals are berried and grow to 1" now. A red orchid also berried at the top of the wood.

red tigri, they already berried when I got them, not in my tank. Hoping to get some babies.

Beautiful shrimp and beautiful set up! I'm very impressed, the shrimp look very secure in their home

Do you know the GH and KH values are your aquarium? If not, do you expect GH 10-11 and KH 7-8 would be fine for red orchids, cardinals, harlequins and yellow cheeks?

I tested about 2 months ago my gH was 8 and kH was 6. I have not tested again. But the TDS has been the same.

Very nice pictures! I like how you use Canadian lace rock.
