    Nice little family there!!!! The shrimplets are so cute! Let me guess, they are 2 months old? Actually my shrimp family also look something like that with mostly C/B grades.In my eyes, they have their own beauty too! I just love those huge big female shrimps that to me are the real survivors, they are so hardy! I am trying to breed a colony of more heat tolerant shrimps since I am using only a fan with temp varying from 25 to 28 degrees and so far so good.

    The water is a mixture of RO and tap water + peat in the bottom
    24°C pH 7 GH 5
    external canister filter Eheim 2213*
    Around 50 grade B-A crystal reds
    I feed spirulina, vegetables and a little bit of frozen black mosquito's/moinia once in a while
    I added some fertilizer balls to the gravel when all the plants were there, this was also beneficial for some limited algae growth

    Other identified inhabitants include(d):

    - cyclops
    - a bunch of daphnia-like things
    - small nematodes and flatworms
    - parotocinclus couple
    - 1 big apple snail
    the last 2 are back to the big community tank now

    * as some of the more perceptive amongst you might have noticed, I do not have a protection on the filter inlet to keep shrimplets out. I removed this during the re-scaping, but leaving the filter on to avoid sudden rises in ammonia or H2S, I noticed that young shrimp were walking on the outside of the inlet, while even smaller ones where foraging INSIDE the inlet, but just walking on minding their own business without being sucked in!!!!
    Since the sponge that was covering it before became clogged regularly, I figured I would just leave it like this. No shrimplets are disappearing, and I cant see any in the canister. Still a bit paranoid for the very small ones, but we'll see...

    Your tank setting is nice. Thanks TiToc for your detailed description of the way you keep your CRS. It's very helpful for me (to imitate or to avoid ) I think you should cover the filter inlet. I found some CRS baby in my eiheim before.

    Yeah, I will do it. It's also for the moment, I don't mind if the smallest shrimplets would disappear as I just did a selection of the older ones in the tank and their offspring are the shrimplets I really want to keep.

    Forgot important detail: this tank contains 60 liter.
