Default My Black Diamond tank! (lots of pictures)

Hi everyone. Over the past year I've gotten this tank set up and going. In the past month I've had success breeding them finally!

The specs on this tank are pretty basic.

    Tank: 10g AGA
    Substrate: Red Sea Flora Base
Filtration: Tom's Rapids mini canister filter.
Lighting: Stock 15 watt t8 bulb.
Heater: (not chiller ) Visitherm stealth heater.

    Flora:

Italian vals. (not sure on latin name, they where sold to me at a lfs)
Narrow or needle Java fern (not sure which)
    Dwarf sag.
    Flame moss
Willow mosses- frontinallis gigantea and a regular. (both collect locally by moi)
    Fissidens Fontanus
    Cypt wendettii red/green.
    Susswassertang (spelling?)

    Fauna:

Black Diamond- over 20 with babies too
    Clithion snails- over 7
rams horn and pond snails... being squashed and fed to my shrimp

These first pictures are of before tank setup, tank setup and initial planting, a month later, then two months ago, finally today's pictures.

More in next post since I can only post 10 photos per post.

Here is one of the moms, this girl is the higher grade of the two.

And here are some of the clithion snails in this tank as well as Black Diamonds.

One of two with this pattern of stripes.

    Two on glass

A Black Diamond saying HI let me clean you off! To the suspected female. Another one is behind her...

Nice photos. Great shots of the babies. Did you original started with only a pair of black diamonds? Great job breeding them. I've got 7 of them 3 months ago and still couln't get them to breed

They're called Clithions or Clithons or something of that type I'm still not positive on the correct spelling I got them at my Local aquarium place, They where $2 per and they had no idea what they where.

I bought a group of 20 A-S grades back in April-March of 07. Out of those only two where females. For a while I thought I only had males. Around 5 months later My first berried female appeared but dropped her eggs when I rescaped the tank. Since then the two where berried again in december and I only topped off the water and made sure they got plenty of food. Now I've got a 10g tank with baby shrimp everywhere I look!

    Thanks,
    -Andrew
