    Default Moss Floor

    Hi,

    I'm new to planted tanks (Nov 2004) and instead of fishes and plants, I find I'm more interested in shrimps than the rest ......

    Anyway, I have a small longish tank (L28 x 1W8 x H34 cm) that I'm planning to use for a shrimps only tank. Question I have is the use of moss of the floor. As my tank floor is rather small, I was think of using moss to line the entire floor. I have read of folks using moss wall but not sure if using moss to line the floor will accultae debris, dead staff etc.

    Appreciate all advice !

    Then shall we scoope up the gravel before setting up the moss ground?
    Or just got to leave the gravel as it is and covered up with moss ground ontop ..

    Just setup this 3ft shrimps tank week ago still under cycle...
    Ever think of setting up moss ground cos it really look nice & neat..

    Wow, it looks like a garden to me with bushes of bamboos .

    If moss floor is used, gravel is not necessary. One can postion the outlet of filter or power head to push the waste to a corner or front for easy removal.

    WOW! nice ...i prefer the plain old wild look z. If you want to look at moss walls and floors, you can also go to marine parade(Hawker center there) if you want.
    There are 2 fish shop there, one is the large one. The other is the moss specialist(facing the neighbourhood police post).

    He has 6ft tank weeping moss floor...... christmax moss wall .......and lots of moss however didnt see any taiwan moss. He has "feng wei "grass there too. Very nice guy and like to share his moss idea. You can drop by if you want. I am not related to the shop in anyway.

    I just love his moss :: :: !!!!

    The LFS should be GenX.
    One simple way of making moss wall or floor is to tie the moss on a piece of Stainless steel mesh. Hang them up to make a wall or lay them flat to make a floor.
