I know in Korean name( jig lip moss) means grow horizontaly.

In english, I'm not sure, could be

    flame moss

Hi Moses! I'd kept flame/fire moss before - they seem bushier and their tendency to curl as they grow upwards is quite evident; this one that I've just gotten seems different.

I did a quick search and came across this website: http://www.aquamoss.net/Moss-List.htm.

I'm comparing their photos with mine - do you think the following might be a better match? They've called it fissidens (the Singapore variant) or something. Sorry, wish I had a better photo of mine.

well, picture looks similar, but fissiden species really are wider than

the (jig lip moss) you have. I wish I could give you english name of it .

Yes it should be Fissidens sp. 'Singapore'. It's a bit smaller than the one from the USA.

My guess is the newly coined zipper moss. Fissidens zippelianus.

Thanks guys for your comments and reference to the discussion on killies.com - yes the similarities are there, though mine looks rather 'malnourished'. Probably will update again when it grows in, we might get a better comparison then. Thanks a bunch!

Don't see how you can malnourish a fissidens! Looks like it just needs to lengthen and straighten out or plant it more compact.

PS: Everybody likes to scrape drains and claim to find a moss, fissidens or chendol plant.
Some do but most can't grow in water.

Killie's a great place for info on small plants and... killies!
