Default Seachem Flourite vs Carib Sea's Eco-complete?

Which of the two looks better?
    Which has the best nutrients?
How is the water clarity with each?
    Any problems with shrimp?

I am currently planning to set up a forty breeder planted/ shrimp tank to upgrade from my tens. I want to do things and do them right. I also want to incorporate a nice looking "sand trail" in the aquascape. My question is how do you guys keep the sand from blowing around. Also is there any plastic that is safe in the aquarium that would good to shape the trail out and to keep the substrates from mixing together?
I might have more questions as I go through this build. Any input is appreciated thanks to all in advanced.

Both are good soils for planted tanks and shrimp that prefers more neutral PH and higher GH. (I have set up a few planted tanks with both of them, very good results) they won't buffer your PH but will raise GH a bit. It just depends of what you have in mind. By the way, witch lfs in Houston you work?

For the sand trail, I had the same question but ended using lava rock to divide the sand and the soil. Why don't you use those plastic tank dividers? ( cut to the need it lenght )

I think you are talking about my tanks, Lolz. But I did the same thing you are inquiring about with the sand trail and all. I ended up dirting the tank and topping it with kitty liter & fluorite. I cut up some soda bottle to create the curve to my sand trail. So far so good!

The thick one is to hard to form and the thin one is too brittle.

Its more than to divide sand, its more to shape up the sand kind of give the tank one of those nice "path ways" but with sand dunno want to experiment.

Checkout these, atleast 2 of them makes a sandpath or divide the sand.
