hello,
thank you for the pictures. my looks like the same and they are from india and titeld in germany as "green longnose" an species is neocaridina.
the red nose is a breeder in low-order-form and the "green longnose" is high-order-form.
but i cant find any informations about the scientific name and informations about temperature and so on.

rené,
I have 4 pregnant green long nose (here, the shop labelled them as Green Rocket) and a few not, seems that they are prolific breeder, as a significant portion of them are carrying eggs in the selling tank.
Some of them are a little orange and some are neon green. Not sure if that tell a sexual difference. I haven't got the time to observe them yet.
I will leave them in my tank that is 25C, my guess is shrimps from Asia will do well in this temperature. My water parameter around PH 7 to breed Cherry Shrimp should be good for them too.

hmmm, yours look like Caridina cf. babaulti green. It is different from Jojoecute's and my green shrimps, they appearing to have longer "nose" and slander body.
Yours look like the same as:
http://www.shrimpnow.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10001/C_green3.jpg
which is described here, trade name is Green shrimp or Neon green shrimp:

The good news is Caridina cf. babaulti green breed easily. :)

The coloration is variable with this species. Green shrimps are not always green :) .
I think "prolific breeder" means that it is easy to breed and females will give birth to many shrimplets.

Rene, sorry to hear that 4 of the shrimp died.
Pconnieae has answered for me on what I mean by polific breeder. :)
Those Green Long Nose shrimps, comes in different color; green, yellow, bluish-green and even orange.

Hi,
I'm new here and this will be my first post to this forum :)
Does the green rocket shrimp have scientific name or is it just Neo/caridina sp. ?
It looks indeed very interesting :)
I have some green shrimps which are labeled as Caridina cf. babaulti "green", but I guess they are not same as green rockets, am I correct?

welcome to the shrimp forum! :joking:
hmm i am not too sure about scientific names, but it is obvious the longnose/rocket shrimp have a tiny long "nose". :D Through this i think you can easily differientiate them. :D
