Would you recommend using ADA aquasoil for CRS?
I heard it's good since it lowers pH rather consistantly.
With aquasoil:
pH 6.5
KH 2-3 degrees
Without aquasoil: instead eco complete + DIY CO2
PH 7.0
KH 5.0 degrees
Straight from tap:
pH 7.6
KH 5.0 degrees
What you think?

I would strongly encourage the use of ADA Aquasoil if you are starting fresh in setting up a CRS tank. The use of Aquasoil would greatly reduce the water cycling period, in order to achieve an ideal water parameter for CRS.
The shrimp will be under less stressful condition when transfered to the new tank.

Hi,
the soil and the cycling have not much to do with each other. You need the bacteria in the filter and they need time to spread through the material and to grow well. This will take some weeks. The ADA soil can cause some extra problems, that's it. BTW, you can keep CRS even without any gravel/soil.

I was intially having lots of problems with my new ADA soil gravel. Until Silane enlighten and advise me, did lots of water change, after a month, finally able to introduce shrimps (cherries) successfully into the tank. Now need to source for CRS to introduce them in.
