i've had a 5/8" rcc for 3 weeks now and this morning she molted in under an hour. She seems fine--no lost limbs, just still quietly hanging out on her perch above the tank (where she molted in less than an inch of water). I had no idea it would be so soon. All i know is that she needs quiet for a few days so I don't have the aq. light on. there are no other animals in it to bother her. i assume when her shell is hard, she will start moving around thet tank again.

however, i had just ordered a half dozen plants to complete the tank setup a couple of nerite snails, and also got a new piece of wood for it and a new perch. i was going to vacuum the gravel and put her in a closed container this weekend while i finished up her tank. How long should i wait to do these stressful changes now? A week? 10 days? just float the plants when they come for that long? I was going to gently ease the new perch in on the other side of the tank this weekend anyway, but how long before i take out the one she has now--which is a quart freezer carton with two rocks on it bc the wood i had before was a mess and i had to get rid of it? Any thoughts, guesses, past experience would be greatly appreciated as this is my first crab and i don't want to stress her too soon after molting.
