Why most of us are simply happy to keep their SLW shrimp alive, a shrimp keeper in Germany (Stefan Bischoff) has worked on Cardinal shrimp and presented a strain with full white legs - which means not only the feeding arms are white, but ALL legs.

Please check out Jared's blog for photos, as I have not requested copyrights to post the pictures here:

@BrunoAlves: Yes, I have seen the transparent dennerli with no body coloration also, thanks for the reminder :) Looks as in any shrimp form the can be a transparent morph. When the first import batches began, one did see fire-red cardinals often, while now the dark-red morphs are more spread. Perhaps they collect them at another location...

Sulaweshi shrimp selective breeding has just started. Look at caridina spinata forms... I think it's also possible a cardinal with no dots and white legs. It's just a matter of time... and good breeders ;)

Hi

I have seen these beauties Caridina dennerli var "Ivory" with my own eyes, they appeared in France, not far from where I live. My own Caridina dennerli come from this Fish farm.

I have been thinking this, too - but the breeder says he did not cross that shrimp.

@kobal: The picture you posted does not show a full white leg cardinal, please compare to the link in the first post.

I know that!:D I was just commenting the picture Brunoalves had posted before, showing a white/yellow mutation of Caridina dennerli called "Ivory".:)

I think this is a great thread. Most other shrimp are selectively bred, why not Cardinals. I too have seen differences in my own Cardinal stock. The very first batch I received from over seas was a scarlet red color and in my opinion the most impressive of all variations I have seen. Unfortunately it was my first batch and with my own inexperience I managed to kill them off. All variations I have come in contact with since have been an intensely purple color...also VERY beautiful, but those "Cardinal", scarlet colored batch were pretty amazing.

Incredible. It will be interesting to see what these breeders can do in the future, once these Sulawesis have been on the market long enough. Such a beautiful species, I look forward to seeing what variations can be brought about. Thank you for sharing!
