you dont really have to feed your shrimps, alot of the japanese breeders suggest only feed your shrimps every 3-4days and that has worked wonders for them so, i would guess itd do the same with us.

For a few shrimps in a bigger tank itīs maybe enough to eat for a while. When the population grows, it wonīt be enough any more.
Itīs also right not to feed too much. Some days in a week iīm not feeding my shrimps at all.

I have a planted tank, and will be going away soon, so maybe not feeding cherries for a few months and no water changes. I did this before and came back to a population explosion. I hope to see the same thing when I return.

If you have moss growing in your tank. Not feeding them for quite some time should be fine as they will probably feed on the shoots of the moss.
I guess the Japanese feed them lesss often and allow them to feed on the natural food such as moss shoots should make the shrimps healthier as less articficial contents are introduced into their diet.

the Shrimp can survive without any extra food for days. But for some shrimp like crystal red shrimp, special food can be supplied for a better colouration.
