Armin,
Very patient of you to develop them in 4 years.
I am seeing a lot S and A. You may want to concentrate to develop the 4th white. The CRS in the first pic is very impressive, it even has red legs and tiger tooth, a little lacking in the 3rd (small) and 4th white band (not full).
Do you breed them in the same tank or has many to sort different grade to breed among themselves?
Nice work. :)

I´m not breeding black&white really together with red&white. From time to time
I´m crossing the lines. In the last picture you see the end of a breeding. I´m selecting the best and than it goes on.

Hello,
Splendid shrimps you have! May I ask with what grade and how many shrimps you started your breeding line? In my country one can buy max. grade C in LFS, and the prices are sky-high (7 euro per one C or less grade shrimp). What is grade A and B availability in Germany? (You wrote you started with "normal" CRS, what do you mean by "normal"?). And also, could you tell me what are the prices over there? It's not a long way, so I might "go shrimping" over the border :) :)

Hello Annya,
I started with six CRs and with only one female. I had the normal bee shrimp and
i mixed them from time to time with the CRs. In the beginning they had no grade(No white bands, even not many white!) In germany we are starting in the moment to develop the CRs and for most of the people it is not clear what is grade a and grade b. And so it is with the prices. They are developing in the moment for that kind of CRs.

Armin,
very nice S and A grade CRS you have ! From the photo this seem to be a planted tank and your patience for the past few years really paid off.
Care to share what's your fert regime and dosing you do for your planted that doesnt affect the CRS ?

Hello spinex,
can you please repeat your last question in another way? I don`t understand you.
Thanks Armin

Hi Armin,
he wants to know which fertilizer you use for your plants and how often you dose it (how much do you give to the plants and when you do it). It does not seem to affect your shrimps, so he is interested in it.

Robert

On photos can be seen only Java moss and Cladophora (probably), these two don't need fertilize to grow.

Ok, thank you Robert. I don`t need any fertilizer for these plants. The only fertilizer is fresh water.

Hello Armin,
Firstly, well done on the breeding of CRS. You most certainly have the patience and care for your shrimps which is much sought after by many fellow hobbyists. The most interesting picture was the most recent one you posted as it shows a bit more of the tank. Could you please share with us the dimensions of your tank and what are the parameters?
The layout seems similar to mine and like you I do not use any form of fertilizers for the plants as fresh water is the only thing I use. I like the simplicity it implies. If it works for you, it could work for me! I look forward to your future posts and more photos of any newly developed strains your CRS produce! Good luck!
Grüße/ Greetings,
Terry.

Hoi/Hello Terry,
the problem for me is that I don`t care much about water parameters because
it works. The only thing I know is, that my water is not hard. I change one time
a week my water and then there is only a few centimeters left of the old water.
But you need very good water when you change so many water.
The problem with the plants is, that I have make my tanks totally empty after
four months because of the breeding. So I have no plants that need a
tankground to grow. I have java moss and kinds of ferns growing on wood.
I have tanks in this dimensions(20 l,50 l, 120 l) but for the plants the big ones
are better.

Hello Armin,
Thank you for your reply.
I figured as much that parameters do not concern you too much. Frankly, I sometimes feel that some of us hobbyists pay a little too much attention to the shrimp rather than too little. Sometimes I think it gets a little bit like overkill. It does not mean that I do not take care of them properly but I never had any problems with my shrimps or other crustaceans for that matter. If the method works, I stick to it.
The water quality where I am at is by far the best quality in the city. Nevertheless for safety sake I always use a little bit of Dupla© GAN water conditioner everytime I change the water.
In the dimensions you stated, do you mean you have the smaller tanks only lightly planted? Also what kind of substrate do you use?
Your success with your CRS has prompted me to start trying my own CRS breeding. I'll be receiving a lovely group tommorow :sweethear !
The photo of the CRS looks impressive. Might I ask if you could post a general view of one of your smaller tanks? Thanks.
Viel Dank und Grüße ( many thanks and greetings)
Terry

Hello Terry,
I hope you will gave fun and luck with your new CRs. My smaller tank you already see on the first photo of this page (20 l). I prefer to use sand for my tanks, because the CRs like to search for something to eat in the substrate.
Greetings over the border
Armin
