Hi,
Can I feed shrimps (CRS,RCS) with murdered snails (Planorbis sp., Lymnaea stagnalis)? Will they eat it? Can't it be harmful?

It depends if the snail is poisonous. But why feed snails intentionally? They need a more balanced diet if you ask me.

A question, has anyone see shrimps eat ramshorn egg clusters?

What else do with overbreeded snails? Through them to toilet? I wanna feed only snails from current tank.

I have never seen Red Cherry Shrimp eat ramshorn snail eggs. I have RCS in a tank with them, and the snails leave lots of egg clusters around. The Cherries will walk up to an egg cluster, touch it, and walk the other direction. Nor do they eat Physa (pond) snail egg clusters. I was really hoping that they would, as I'd like to decrease the snail population.
I've read a thread that the Japonica will eat snail egg clusters.

Hi,
I have read an article from a fish keeping magazine and its recommend that it is good to feed fish with crushed snail, its provide nutrition for fishes and help keep snail population in control. However, they did not mentioned about shrimp, but i guess its the same. I had been feeding shrimp with snail too.

I have crushed ramshorn snails too, but they are more intresting as food for crayfish or bigger shrimps like Caridina japonica.
If you do not feed too much, the quantity of the snails won´t get too big, so less work with crushing. :p
