Hey mrag!
hmm... nope. using 1 filter for 1 tank. This Eheim 2215 is run through a chiller as well.
running an Eheim 2213 for the tank on the top tier rack. =)
What shrimp do you plan on keeping, mrag?
Im considered new myself! I know everyone will learn something from ShrimpNow and you definitely will too!

Looks great! I like the (ceramic?) tunnels with holes. What are the perfectly round spheres? Will you culture moss on them, or what is the purpose?
Neos and Sulawesi come from different habitats, so it would be quite a compromise, and possibly not a successful one, to put them into one tank.

Cool tanks ,what is that white ball is it some kind of mineral stone or bacteria house ?
Also you said you were planning to keep neocaridina and sulawesi shrimp in the same tank ...i dont think its possible as they need different water parameters ,but i am no expert so i could be wrong .

hi,, what soil you using?? ?? and are u using UGF?? by the way,, nice set up:)
hi rascal! thanks for the compliments! The soil im using is Crimson Bee Soil. its a new soil in the market and i do like products... it doesnt crumble at all. but quite cloudy when newly setup. Interested to try the new Mosura soil as well...
oh i just realised in the picture it does look like a UGF.. but nope.. not using UGF.. personally not a believer in it. Because of the high flowrate from my canister, i repositioned the rainbar (which is the one at the back in the corner) to be vertical, not horizontal. drilled more holes in the rainbar and faced it to flow to the back side of the tank. also because i used to have a hyrda problem on the back of the tank when my rainbar was horizontal so because of the flow, there should not be anymore.. =)

Thanks Mark! The white ball is Crimson Bee Ball. It is some kind of a mineral stone. Releases very slowly a little at a time... Because the TDS from my tap water is kind of low, wanted to raise it so i included it as a scape i guess... just that you need 10 balls for a 2ft tank.. looks very crowded.
OH! haha... yea... you are right to say that Sulawesi and Neocaridina's should not be in the same tank. and i wont be keeping them together. I just did not mention that the tank i just ordered is a partition tank. One partition is for Sulawesi shrimps =) Separate filter system.
However, if you keep Sulawesi shrimps at a lower pH of about 7.5 to 7.8, and Neocaridina's at a pH of the same, i think its possible?** but in my opinion, they dont look nice together...I have seen some LFS here have their fire reds with higher pH and some with a low ph. but i'm going with a lower ph for neocaridina =)
**Maybe someone more experienced can clarify this?
Thanks again, Mark! you have a nice setup as well!

Nice tank. I'm surprised the Bee Soil you're using isn't removing all of the kH. It's much easier to induce breeding with a kH of zero.

Hey countcoco! Thanks! Yea im surprised myself...really expected a lower kH reading.. I suspect it could be my tap water... Might do a small water change with distilled water.. Thanks again!

Hi guys!
Here's an update of the tank now... added a couple more stuff and shifted things around. Took a really long time cause i didnt want to kick up the soil too much. believe me it was a long process =) I feel satisfied now with the scape and i hope you will enjoy it too! Now preparing for a new shrimp tank project and will continue to hunt for great pieces for this tank and hopefully they will breed well!
any comments welcomed! is there anything you would have done which i might have missed? Thanks for the advices you guys give on the forum here! Really learnt a lot...
Here a FTS...
