Fissidens Splachnobryoides
I have grown many plants over the years, but have never played around with this stuff. I have a few portions coming to me soon.

Any thoughts on the best way to put it in the tank?
My different thoughts: Tie it to wood, thread it to a screen or net

I would like to experiment with it maybe as a lawn, and maybe up some wood or the background. I know that it is a slower grower, so I understand patience and time is required.

I have several different plant systems, some with CO2, and lighting varies from fluorescent bulbs up to metal halide, so I think I can cover its needs, I am just asking for anyone's personal experience as to what works best.

Hi Danken,
I have tried it with other fisidens and as you have already mentioned its a very slow grower.
My experience with this species is that if you can provide soft water for them (low tds and ph around 6) they grow quite well as compared to other water parameters.
I have kept it in my crs tank and have seen some growth :)

So I got the fissidens. I tied most of it to some wood. Here are some pics:

These pics are right after I put it in the tanks, so the moss has not had a chance to absorb some water and loosen up. I look forward to watch it slowly relax into the tanks and begin to grow. It looks really good so far though...

Any idea how long it will be befor ethe fishing wire is no longer visible and 100% covered with moss?

Not sure, but I used thin line on some pieces and it is almost covered already. I used thicker stuff on some and it is still visible. I was thinking about taking it off and swapping it for thin line, unless it is attached, then I will just not have any line. I may try that today or when I get my new stuff in the next day or two. I will give updates then, and maybe post a pic of it now compared to right when I got it.
