Do I need special food for baby CRS?

It looks like one or two of my CRS have eggs. Will I need any special food to feed the babies once they are born?

Congrats,

No, but moss in tank is good. They feed microscopic items from it.

No, they eat the same thing the adults eat.

Isn't that great? For fish fry you have to go for start with infusoria to daphnia to newly hatched brine shrimps etc.. for baby shrimps you just need to sit back and relax.. :D

I posted a while back that my CRS was pregnant. They have hatched :cool: I have seen one minute tiny little shrimp complete with white bands. :)

Really they were due a water change today. Should I wait a bit ? I am worried I might suck the babies out :undecided

When I'm doing a water change and worried about shrimp getting sucked up, I cover the tube with a mesh net.

Normaly shrimplets don't swin around too much. They tends to stay on the sand or inthe moss. I normally on the lights when changing water so I can see what is being sucked into hose.

Shrimps should be ok with moss as they eat the algae on them too.

when changing water you should stay at the surface. I don't have any problems by acting like this. to be totally sure you can pour the water in the washbasin and look out for any small CARS.

when you have to exhaust any duff then it is better to wait a bit. but also when they are young they flit away to moss or other plants as the others already told.
so there shouldn't be a problem
