Hi everyone. I am having a bit of trouble with my dwarf hair grass. I see some runners but nohing substantial. The tank is 75g with 4 54w t5 67k and 2 3ft super white led strips. I also have a layer of potting soil under my aqua soil. Co2 injection is at 1-2 bps. Temp is 72-76 and ph is 6.8. I have rcs and crs in the tank as well. My fissedens do well as well as my Christmas moss, java fern, and rottala. I am constantly trimming the other plants but no success with the hair grass. Any suggestions? Thanks

I am having the same problem, every plant in my tank is growing so fast they are like weeds. The dwarf hairgrass is another story though, a few runners but nothing substantial. I have 3 watts of lighting per litre, co2, and dose ferts twice a week.

I 2nd Tymles request for help :)

Hi Tymles,
I have kept dwarf hair grass-Eleocharis parvula it took some time to start off and also as per my experience says it needs good rich nutrient soil, I used ADA Amazonia 2 and it had ausumn effect with 1-2bps of co2.

I have dwarf hairgrass in 1 small tank and i have noticed it takes time to really take off...also noticed if i stopped adding ferts and co2 growth stops and grass becomes yellow .

I'm in the same boat, have DHG in many tanks with fertz and co2 growth is pretty slow.

i think i have dhg in my new shrimp tank, the name i bought it as is "Eleocharis Acicularis" and i cant stop it growing!!! its growing that well its out competeing the HC
i use 1mm of TMC+ and 1mm of easycarbo per day, i use fluval stratum substarte, no co2 injection. no airstone for o2.
its the best growing plant in there, the HC is growing but VERY slowly. the moss, well moss is moss :D and i also have some narrow leaf fern in there, that isnt really showing any signs of anything atm.
only thing i can think of is ive got a pretty good flow into/over the grass.

heres a link to my tank. http://www.shrimpnow.com/forums/showthread.php/7321-Me-and-My-tank

id also like to point out that i put some in my tropical fish tank when i got it though on the order (i got a little bit to much) and its spreading in there also, and thats just bog standard gravel substrate. no c02 injection, came ferts added just bigger doseage (bigger tank) its not growing as fast, but i guess thats due to the gravel. the water parameters are quite different also
