hi, been reading about CRS and thinking of trying. just a few questions.
1) can i mix them with cherries and yamato?
2) the grading, what is the difference. Been to and his SS seems like the same as his B/C grades to me.
3) will my this shrimp tank do for CRS??

Woooo
Yr tank is mature enough to keep Crs...
Sure you can mix them with all type shrimps..
Hopefully you will convert it to fully Crs tank..
About the SS grade,
You may try fews piece low grade Crs to test it..

Previously i kept many spices shrimps in a comm tank..
Most of the time only Crystal Red Shrimp is around posting & beautifying thier beauty and the others spices all hidding..
So decided to keep Crs in a tank without mixing...
I do still keep a 4ft comm tank with: cherry, green, yamato, malayan, mosquito, tiger, blue, zebra & bee shrimps..
Now i am having another 1ft tank to house only p.zebra shrimp..
thanks for the swift reply. but would it make a difference if i keep only CRCs and if i mix it with cherries and yamato?? i sound like a complete Airhead, asking stupid questions. :embarasse

Hi Just Me,
Are there Cherries and Yamato shrimps in your tank? If not, would advise you to start wth Cherry if you are first time into shrimps keeping.
See here on the difference between grading:

Generally, higher grade means more white portion.
Let us know what is your tank water parameter (temperature and such) and setup (filter), that should be to tell if it is good for CRS. Visually, it look good. :)
There is no concern to mix cherry and CRS as they dont cross breed. When mix with more aggressive shrimps and in large number like Yamato, CRS will loss out in the long run.

bro thanks for the pictorial guide. very helpful.
My tank has both yamato and cherries and now thinking of adding CRS. temperature is good as it is office tank. filter wise, using hangon.
