Are Caridina japonica the same species as the Caridina multidentata.
If so, which name is the correct one?

Hi,
Caridina japonica is a junior synonym of C. multidentata. The valid name is Caridina multidentata even if most people use C. japonica. The valid scientific name is the first scientific name given to a species.
