I just bought ceramic rings for my canister filter,but must i wash the rings first than put it in to the compartment?

Always a good idea - yes, wash them.

I still got a question,Is it a must to wash away the small particles left by the bio ceramic rings? will it harm shrimps?

if i remembered correctly, its like home for the good bacteria. There's different types of bio ceramic apparently.

Yeap its to cultivate beneficial bacteria. Many tiny holes so more surface area to grow on.:)
