hi,

i really like the moss balls and was thinking if there's grass that is like the quality of these moss balls and what are they called. 'Coz it seems if i have to cover my whole aquarium area, i've to get alot of moss balls.

Thus is there a grass that is very similar to this type of moss balls?

Hi!:)
Regarding your question about marimo balls,
I think they're a species of algae( aegagrophila cladophora).
I also think that you won't find easily other plants
that'll form such a tiny "loan".
You can either use foreground carpeting plants like HC cuba,
or use various mosses that will give the same carpeting effect when trimmed short.
Another interesting option is to use the same algae balls (cladophora) on top of round river stones. this will give a nice effect of tiny green "hills"
regards!

:D this is what i did with my moss balls... i open them up, spread them across and made it like a grass patch below a little stone hill...

U could try mini riccia or riccia. The mini looks more like marimo balls in terms of colour and look when spread out. :) currently cultivating some a week ago and they are easy to care for IMO...:)

I have also tried to open a moss ball, but I use it to cover over the shrimp tubes. it looks actually quite good, and the shrimp lover to walk around in it.
