My 20H Future CRS Tank Journal

I finally managed to put down the hard scape in my 20H. I am using amazonia II aqua soil as my substrate and the rocks in the tank are a nice green color. The foreground will be a HC carpet which I will get by using the dry start method in the next few days. Let me know what you guys think!

Nice Start, Do you plan on using CO2 once you flood the tank post the dry start method for growing cuba?

I plan on using CO2 injection using a paintball tank.

So far, the plans for the plants are HC as the foreground. Ricca, fissidens and flame moss by the rocks and blyxa japonica in the back.

So, I finally added some HC to the tank. It is now day 3 of the DSM and I am already seeing growth. I would attach the photo, but it won't let me. If you look in my profile, it is the newest picture added. Doesn't look like much now, but give it a few weeks!

I guess your tank will look excellent after a couple of weeks. I like the scape, too. Did you check the stones with vinegar on raising GH?

I did the vinegar test (no fizzing) as well as leaving a stone in water for a week and see what it did to the water with no changes. They turn a dark green with water and look very lovely.

Do you know what kind of stones they are? I would love to get some.

No idea. They are a light grey green when dry and darker when wet. I got them from some guy on a fish forum. I have some bigger ones left. They are super large.

I'm thinking that I will probably be filling it in a week or 2 depending on how quickly the hc grows.

Congrats on the berried female, she looks beautiful. Also your tank is coming along well keep up the good work.

Thank you! I have a few that never regained their color after they were shipped so I am happy that I have most that are still white! I saw another one with a saddle so I hope that I will eventually have more nice ones!

So far the plants are pearling like crazy. I will give it about a week before I put some shrimps in. Ammonia is at .25ppm and I have zero nitrates and nitrates. pH is currently at 6.8.

So, it has been about a week. There is some brown diatom algae on the rocks but the HC and Blyxa have been doing great. The blyxa is even growing red!
