Hi!
Do you plan to breed shrimps in it? Aren't you afraid the fish could eat the shrimplets?
In one tank, I keep some shrimps together with Rasboras and they love eating the shrimplets....
Best regards,

They will probably try to catch some shrimplets, but some will always survive. There is many hiding places in your tank.
I think it looks very nice.. :)

There are couple of different worms and the only one that would hurt your shrimps are the planaria which is flat looking. If you can show picture os the worm you are talking about maybe we can help you identify it. Also keep in mind planaria is caused by overfeeding just a heads up for you.

you might want to do a search, there's lots of people who have this problem and there's a few solutions...
but "chemical warfare" is always the last resort though..
for me, manual removal

Hi, the fish stress your shrimp and you have too little hiding places... it's like dying on heart attack for the shrimps. Second point is that water changes are elemental for water hygiene. You have raising bacteria population in your tank if you don't do water changes. I advise one every week with amount 15-20%. Last but not least planaria is a no go IMHO. You can kill them by f.e. using the drug No Planaria.

Hi imke_j have you used "No Planaria" in a tank with CRS shrimplets or berried females ? If so did you noticed any affects on either ? Many thanks.

No, I haven't tested it myself (I do not keep CR and have not bought it). Most reports on this product are good if you don't overdose and collect snails first.

not too sure about others but just to share some of my personal experiences which sound very much like what you're going through...
i've at least 3-4 failed tanks before with cherries and crs.. I didn't do water change (only top ups) and there were planarias. My shrimps just keep dying. I thought was the temperature and the pH. But it didn't help. Tried water change but seems like its too late. Seems like something has already been contaminated. In the end, i've to start all over. Painful experience.
Now my tanks are stable with crs and all sorts of shrimps. I do water change btw 20-50%. Water is very clean. However i can't kick my habit of overfeeding them sometimes so i still get planaria attacks. But i don't use No Planaria... i stick to the old tiring way of manually removing them.
So my advice is to do water change and don't over feed. The rest are pretty standard.

I agree with the advice of dont overfeed and make sure you do water changes. It all seems sensible to me, and I would encourage every shrimp keeper to stick to those two mantras. If you can keep the water quality high, you can probably keep your population high as well!
